Yutaka fund rasing for Japan

Internal fund rasing by our staff
Everyone here in the UK has been really shocked at the pictures coming from the earthquake and tsunami disaster. We’ve all been keen to do something to help and so a few staff members got together to bake some cakes and cookies to sell to people and raise money for the appeal.

We were amazed by the response – I have attached photos of some of the many cakes people brought (all homemade). We had a whole room full of delicious cakes and cookies of different shapes, sizes and colours. As you can see, one person (not a Japanese speaker) made a Hi-no-maru cake, looked up a Japanese phrase on the internet and carefully wrote it on the cake in icing.
We sold lots of cakes in Tazaki Foods, but also walked around the industrial estate with trays of goodies to sell to our neighbouring companies, and they sold very well. Even people who don’t have a sweet tooth put in large donations.
We have raised approx. £350 in individual sales and donations, and Tazaki Foods has purchased the Hi-no-maru cake for £200, bringing the total raised to around £550. We hope that this will help our friends in need in Japan to recover from this crisis. Most of all we’ll be sending our small contribution with a whole load of best wishes and the heartfelt message がんばれ日本、がんばれ東北!
